Whether setting goals as an athlete or throughout his career, Rex Floyd always delivered. A great defensive specialist in football and a fine track performer at Peru State, he lettered four times in each sport and once in basketball. After service in the Air Force in WW II, Floyd returned to Peru to earn his degree. He also taught in his hometown of Beatrice, Neb., at the University of Washington, and in California. He was a teacher and administrator at Peru for nearly six years before returning to the Air Force to close out a sterling professional career.
