Hall of Fame
Peru State’s first female Hall of Fame inductee, Phyllis Davidson influenced and inspired over a generation of students as a faculty member from 1927- 59. The Columbus, Kan., native was largely responsible for the addition of dance and archery classes to the education curriculum at Peru. An early pioneer of women’s athletics, she organized the state’s first High School Girls’ Volleyball Invitational, now Nebraska’s oldest college-sponsored tournament. A model example of dedication and service to the teaching profession, she passed away in 1983.
