One of the most prolific softball players in Peru State history, Kerry Brandt Evans, a native of Kentucky, is still listed in many career and single-season categories in the Bobcat record books.
At this time, Brandt Evans is still listed in the top three in eight different hitting and in ten different single-season categories. She still holds the top marks for career runs scored with 168, career runs batted in with 146, and career doubles with 44. At the time of her graduation, Brandt Evans was first in the following categories while now still in third in the top ten marks: career at-bats with 578, career hits with 219, and career home runs with 23. In addition, she is still third in career batting average at .379 and third in career triples with 14.
She was a member of 1996 team which went 42-23 and is the only Bobcat softball team to have qualified for the NAIA National Championship. That team was inducted into the Peru State Hall of Fame in 2015.
Brandt Evans finished her career at Peru State by earning the Bert E. Swenson Award and also was named as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
