Hall of Fame
Kevin ‘Bud’ Frohling came to Peru State College from Guthrie Center, Iowa. He was a standout wrestler at a time when PSC was a national NAIA powerhouse.
In 1974-75 Frohling proved himself to be the best winning the 150 lb. NAIA National Championship. He led the squad with 18 pins that year and finished with a record of 37-2-1.
In his injury-shortened 1975-76 season Frohling a two-time conference champ earned a record of 11-2-0. Because Peru later eliminated the program, the tough Frohling will be remembered as the first and only national champion in Peru State wrestling history.
