Ivan Wineglass is being inducted into the Peru State College Hall of Fame due to his prowess on the basketball court. Wineglass graduated from Peru State in 1994.

Wineglass was only on the Peru State campus for a short time, but his impact as a part of the 1992-93 men’s basketball team left its mark. While playing for the Bobcats during that season, Wineglass and his teammates participated in the national tournament – which was the first time in 27 years.

He was nearly unstoppable in the paint as he hit a nation-leading .696 field goal percentage which is still a Bobcat record. Wineglass led his team with 19.8 points and 8.3 rebounds. He finished the season with 653 points which was third-most at the time and is still sixth overall.

Wineglass accumulated many honors that season including NAIA First Team All-American, NAIA All-Tournament First Team, District 11 Player of the Year, and Omaha World-Herald NAIA Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He was the first Peru State men’s basketball player to be named as a First Team All-American at that time.

Since leaving the College, Ivan Wineglass has stayed very connected with Peru State and has been active with the Foundation’s National Alumni Association.

Most recently, Ivan has joined the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
