Bobcat athletic director Steve Schneider recently announced that Peru State women’s basketball player Abigail Niebrugge (Omaha) and men’s basketball player Rashad Brackeen (Oakland, Calif.) were selected as the December Athletes of the Month. They were picked based on their athletic efforts during the past month.
 
Niebrugge was one of the key contributors in leading the women’s basketball team to a 4-7 start in the 2016 portion of the season.
 
Through 11 games, Niebrugge is the team’s leading scorer averaging 11.92 points per contest while making a respectable 40.5% of her field goal attempts. In addition, Niebrugge is the team’s leader in steals nabbing 1.82 per game. She scored a season-high 19 points against Clarke (Iowa). Presently, Niebrugge is ranked 48^th in the NAIA DI individual rankings with a 37.9% three-point field goal percentage.

Schneider commented, “Both Abigail and Rashad have helped lead their teams to their respective starts. Congratulations to both of them on their selections as December athletes of the month.”
