Bobcat athletic director Steve Schneider recently announced that Peru State volleyball player Nadja Janjevic (Podgorica, Montenegro) and football player John Brady (Hickman) were selected as the August Athletes of the Month. They were picked based on their efforts and/or honors earned during the past month.
Janjevic, a junior, was recently named a Bobcat volleyball team captain and led her team to their home opening win against William Penn. She had 13 kills on 22 attempts for a .364 hitting percentage against the Statesmen. In addition, she had three service aces. On the season so far, Janjevic had a total of 37 kills, six service aces, 18 digs, two solo blocks, and 17 block assists. Janjevic was one of three individuals selected to be a captain by her teammates and coaches.
“While it was a short month with athletic events, Nadja and John both played key roles in helping their teams to early-season wins,” noted Schneider when announcing his August selections.
