Peru State College Athletics

Marisa Pribnow (Lincoln) and Corday Sims (Chicago) were recently named as the Peru State Bobcat Athletes of the Month for March. The honors were announced by athletic director Steve Schneider.

Sims receives the honor as he was selected to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division I Men’s Basketball All-America Second Team.

Having been named to the NAIA DI’s All-America second team, Sims, a junior, became the first Bobcat to be named to a team since Myron Jenkins in 2005. Sims had previously earned Heart of America Athletic Conference First Team honors which allowed him to be considered for the NAIA recognition.
 
At the end of the season, Sims was ranked in several NAIA individual categories. Sims was seventh in points per game (20.69); 14^th in total scoring (600); 43^rd in three-point field goals made per game (2.345); and 48^th in free throw percentage (0.779).
 
Sims’ 600 points for the season places him sixth on the all-time single-season scoring chart.
 
When announcing Pribnow and Sims, Schneider congratulated them on their success on the golf course and on the basketball court.
