(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State athletic director Wayne Albury recently announced the March Peru State athletes of the month as Alyssa Marsh-Contreras (Omaha) and Henry Tanksley (Lincoln).
Both Marsh-Contreras and Tanksley have been leaders on their respective basketball teams. Most recently, both were named to the NAIA Division I All-American Honorable Mention list.
A 5-7 sophomore guard, Marsh-Contreras finished the season as the team’s leader in points per game (17.11), assists per game (3.11), and steals per contest (1.57).
Marsh-Contreras finished the season in the following NAIA DI Top 50 individual rankings: 25th in three-point field goals made per game (2.464), 26th in points per game, 27th in total scoring (479), and 38th in total three-point field goals made (69).
“Gaining any level of All-America recognition is quite an accomplishment so it was not a hard selection to identify Alyssa and Henry as Peru State’s athletes of the month for March,” noted AD Albury.
