Women's Bowling

Women's Bowling Competes at Bronco Open

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Wen's Bowling team competed at the Bronco Open in Hastings, Nebraska on Saturday and Sunday. The team finished 4th, qualifying for match play after 41 games and totaling 7274 pins. The Varsity women's team was ranked 54th in the country prior to this tournament. The Varsity Reserve Ladies finished 3rd, after 41 games totaling 6019 pins.
 
Varsity Results…
Abby Yates, a freshman, finished 7th after getting a total 1001 pins with games of 216, 211, 179, 174 and 221. Yates had a average of 200 pins.
 
Makenzie Millard, a junior from Topeka, Kansas, finished in 12th place after she totaled 932 pins. Millard had games of183, 173, 194, 182 and 200, ending with a tournament average of 186 pins per game.
 
Mindy Bartels, a junior from Lincoln, Nebraska, finished 16th in the tournament after getting a total of 917 pins, averaging 183 pins. Bartels had games of 169, 158, 216, 178 and 196.
 
Kaitlyn Doyal, a junior from Topeka, Kansas, finished in 35th place finishing with a tournament average of 163 after getting a total of 818 pins after games of 188, 174, 167, 137 and 152.
 
Aleia Crandall, a Junior from Lincoln, Nebraska, finished in 43rd after games with scores of 169, 133, 180, 159 and 150 for a total 791 pins and an average of 158.
 
Varsity Reserve Results…
Caitlynn Gronenthal, a junior from Leigh, Nebraska, finished in the tournament at 32nd after getting scores of 160, 169, 168, 164, and 167 in an average of 165 and total 828 pins.
 
Haylie Colwell, a freshman from Hastings, Nebraska, finished 49th with a total 763 pins after scores of 109, 154, 183, 159 and 158 for a tournament average of 153.
 
Kailyn Schafer, a freshman from Hastings, Nebraska, finished in 148th place after bowling a total of 744 pin after games of 145, 171, 119, 133 and 176 for an average of 148 pins.
 
Peyton Gonzales, a freshman, finished 59th after bowling a total of 686 pins with scores of 132, 162, 105, 155 and 132 for an average of 137 pins.
 
Elle Kerkman, a freshman from Palmyra, Nebraska, finished 60th after totaling 680 pins with her games of 119, 145, 179, 105 and 132 pins to average 136 pins.
 
Next: The Bobcats will be in Rockford, Illinois on November 9th and 10th for the Leatherneck Classic.
