(Peru, Neb.)— Saturday, April 30, was a big day in the life of
Delonte Hood. At the conclusion of the NFL Draft, the Peru State defensive back from Washington, D.C., signed with the AFC Champion and Super Bowl runner-up Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent.
When the seven rounds of the NFL Draft are completed teams can start signing free agents of players who did not hear their named call during the three-day event.
Hood last season played in ten games for the Bobcats he had 21 total tackles on the year, five of which were solo. He had seven pass breakups an interception and one blocked kick.
Hood shined during Nebraska's pro day back in March. The 5-foot-11, 192-pound defensive back ran a 4.38 40-yard dash, 4.20 20-yard shuttle and 6.84 3-cone drill. Hood had a 35-inch vertical, 10-foot-5 broad jump and had 12 reps of 225 lbs. on the bench press.
