(Peru, Neb.) – After leading 14-7 at the end of the first quarter, the Peru State football team scored 51 unanswered points on their way to a 65-21 victory over the host Culver-Stockton (C-SC) Wildcats in Canton, Mo.

With the win, the Bobcats assured themselves of a winning season mark as they improved to 6-4 on the year and are now 2-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) North. Culver-Stockton fell to 0-10 and 0-4 in the North.

First Quarter ActionÂ
Peru State won the toss and elected to receive and after the kickoff, the Bobcats started on their 16-yard line.
Tyler Audsley (Prescott Valley, Ariz.) took the first play and went ten yards for a first down.
Nate Tromblee (Lincoln) followed with a 21-yard gain on the ground to move the ball out to the 47-yard line. After an Audsley pass completion to
AJ Flodman (Hickman) for seven yards, Audsley kept it and went for five yards for the first down. Audsley followed it up with 16 yards to move the ball down to the Wildcats' 25-yard line. After three short rush plays, Peru State was faced with a 4
th and one on the 16-yard line. The Bobcats went for it and
Eric Morrison-Smith (San Diego, Calif.) took it to the end zone for a touchdown.
Greg Conry (Harlan, Iowa) hit the PAT and Peru State led 7-0 with 10:21 left on the first quarter clock.

The Bobcats forced the Wildcats to a three-and-out on their first drive and after the punt; Peru State took over on their 20-yard line.

Audsley started Peru State's second possession with an 18-yard run for a first down. Three plays later, Morrison-Smith rumbled for 35 yards down to Culver-Stockton's 18-yard line for the second first down of the play.
James Sluka (Milligan) followed with a 12-yard gain which moved the ball to the six-yard line. After Audsley was stopped on the next play, Tromblee went in from seven yards out for Peru State's second score of the game. Conry's PAT was good and with 4:30 left in the first; the Bobcats led 14-0.

Culver-Stockton did put together a drive and eventually scored on a 37-yard touchdown pass with 15 second left in the quarter. Their PAT was good and it was then Peru State 14, Culver-Stockton 7.

Second Quarter ActionÂ
The Bobcats could not move the ball on their first possession and C-SC took over on their 39-yard line. Peru State forced a three-and-out and when the Wildcats punted,
Briar Burr (Wood River) blocked the punt which was recovered by
Brandon Fletcher (Maxwell) on Culver-Stockton's 38-yard line.

Audsley was responsible for two first downs in the drive for Peru State which resulted in another Morrison-Smith touchdown, this time from eight yards out. Conry's kick was good and with 11:10 left in the half, the Bobcats led 21-7.

On the Wildcats' first play after the kickoff, Burr came up with an interception and returned it 22 yards to the C-SC's 12-yard line. After a short rush, Sluka went in from ten yards out. Conry made his PAT and with 10:13 remaining in the second quarter, the Bobcats led 28-7.

Peru State forced Culver-Stockton to punt again on their next possession and
Logan Paben (Columbus) returned the punt 42 yards to the Wildcats' eight-yard line. On the third play of the drive, Morrison-Smith scored his third touchdown of the game from one-yard out. Another Conry PAT made it 35-7 with 7:13 left in the half.

Burr came up with his second interception of the game on the next Wildcat possession and Peru State started their fourth drive in the second quarter on their 38-yard line. A big play in the drive was when back-up quarterback
Travis Carnahan (Wahoo) found Tromblee for a 40-yard pass reception which moved the ball to the Wildcat 17-yard line. Culver-Stockton's defense did force a Bobcat field goal try by Conry which was good from 24 yards. This was the final scoring of the half with Peru State leading 38-7.

Third Quarter ActionÂ
Nolan Siemonsma (Plattsmouth) thwarted a fourth down try by Culver-Stockton on their first drive of the second half with a sack. This gave the Bobcats the ball on their 39-yard line.

On the seventh play of the drive, Morrison-Smith went in from 12 yards out for his fourth score of the day. Conry's kick was not good, but the Bobcats led 44-7 with 7:11 left in the third quarter.

The Wildcats coughed up the ball on their next possession with a fumble which was recovered by
Neiman Sneed (Phoenix, Ariz.) on Culver-Stockton's 20-yard line. With a fourth and one on the 11-yard line, Morrison-Smith scored his fifth touchdown of the game. Conry's kick was good and it was now Peru State 51, Culver-Stockton 7 with 3:50 to go in the third stanza.

On the Wildcats' third play of their next possession,
Ismael Calvillo (Tucson, Ariz.) intercepted a pass and returned it four yards to Culver-Stockton's 48-yard line.

It only took one play for Peru State to score as Carnahan found Flodman for 48 yards for the score. Conry connected on his PAT and with 2:40 left in the quarter, the Bobcats led 58-7, which would be the score at the end of the third period.

The Bobcat defense forced another three-and-out to start the fourth quarter and took over on their 44-yard line after the punt was downed.

th play of the drive, another Smith, this time
Aaron Smith (Houma, La.) scored from 13 yards out. Conry's kick was good and it was now 65-7 Peru State. The Bobcats had scored 51 unanswered points at that time.

The Wildcats did manage to put two scores on the board and the final tally was 65-21 Bobcats.

Peru State had 23 first downs compared to the Wildcats' 15, but there was a big disparity in total yardage. The Bobcats finished with 470 total yards while hold Culver-Stockton to 225.
