Peru State College Athletics

Aaron Smith (Houma, La.) and Mallory Hull (Morse Bluff) were named the Peru State Bobcat Athletes of the Month for October.  Athletic director Steve Schneider recently made the announcement.

Smith, a 5-8, 230 pound sophomore running back, earned the recognition after having the most consistent month for a Bobcat football player.  Against Avila University on Oct. 25, Smith became the first Bobcat to rush for more than 100 yards in a game this season.  Smith finished the game with 121 yards on 17 carries and had one rushing touchdown.  In addition, against Avila, Smith added 53 yards through the air as he grabbed four passes and had one touchdown reception.

Also, against Graceland, Smith added 80 yards rushing on 18 carries and had two touchdowns.  Currently, Smith leads the team with 433 yards rushing on the season, has six touchdowns, and is averaging 54.1 yards per game.  He is also the team’s leading receiver with 14 receptions for 138 yards and one touchdown.
