Peru State College Athletics

Courtney Jurek was selected as the August Bobcat Female Athlete of the Month. 

Jurek, a senior setter on the Bobcat volleyball team, earned the August recognition after having been named the first Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Setter of the Week honor of the 2014 season.  She earned her HAAC nomination after leading the Bobcats to a pair of wins in the Grace University Tournament.  Jurek averaged 10.29 assists per set while Peru State defeated Presentation College (S.D.) and Grace University.
 
The early childhood/elementary education major set her personal career high assists in a single game with 47 in the five-set loss to Culver-Stockton College on Tuesday night.  Jurek is currently sitting in sixth in the all-time career assists leaders.
