Preston Bruss (Bennet), a 6-3 junior outside linebacker, earned the HAAC's Defensive Player of the Week, following his performance against the Missouri Valley College Vikings.
Bruss posted impressive numbers for the Bobcats in a losing effort against the seventh-ranked Vikings. He totaled 13 tackles – seven solo, while helping Peru State to hold Missouri Valley to just 13 points, well under their 40+ average. In addition, Bruss added a pair of sacks that went to 21 yards in losses and forced a fumble that he recovered.
Bruss is averaging 10.4 tackles per game, which leads the team, as well as the HAAC. In addition, he leads the Bobcats defensively with 0.6 sacks per game.
