(Peru, Neb.) – Bobcat women’s golfer Hannah Baldacci (Norfolk) and baseball player Alberto Rosario (Carolina, Puerto Rico) were recently named by Peru State interim athletic director Steve Schneider as the April Bobcat Athletes of the Month. They were identified by Schneider for the honor based on their recent athletic accomplishments for their respective teams.
This past Monday Rosario, a junior, was named as the Heart Pitcher of the Week for his performance in the Bobcats’ 3-1 win over William Penn in Des Moines on Friday.
Rosario allowed just three hits, one earned run, and struck out a season-high 12 Statesmen to earn the top honor which was his second of the season.
Presently, Rosario has a 3.61 earned run average on the season and has struck out 79 while only walking 23. He is holding opponents to a .217 batting average.
His 79 strikeouts on the season has moved him into sixth all-time in single season strikeouts. In just two seasons, he has moved into eighth all-time in career strikeouts with 151.
In announcing his April selections, Schneider noted “With their efforts on the golf course and on the baseball diamond, Hannah and Alberto are good choices for the April Peru State Athletes of the Month.”
