Peru State College Athletics

Randy Santiesteban (Hialeah, Fla.) is the Peru State Bobcat male athletes of the month for May/June as announced recently by athletic director Steve Schneider. 

Santiesteban is being recognized as the male student-athlete of the month as he earned several post-season honors and was recently drafted by the Atlanta Braves organization.
 
He was one of two Bobcats to be named to the HAAC Baseball First Team.  Santiesteban led the ‘Cats on the field and was second in the conference in assists with 123, first for the ‘Cats and fourth in the conference with 40 RBI, and was third in the HAAC with six total home runs.
 
After three years as a Bobcat, Santiesteban is in the Bobcat career record books as he is tied for sixth in career doubles with 32 and is ninth in career RBI with 111. 
 
Santiesteban was the lone Bobcat baseball player to be recently named to the Omaha World-Herald’s All-Nebraska NAIA First Team.
