Gwyn Williams Named Associate Athletic Director

(Peru, Neb.)- Peru State College Athletics has announced the hiring of Gwyn Williams as the College's new Associate Athletic Director.
 
Williams brings a strong background in athletic administration, sports information, and game-day operations to the Bobcats. She has served as the Director of Sports Information at Peru State College since January 2024, overseeing athletic communications, media relations, and game operations for more than 100 home events annually.
 
In her new role, Williams will continue to support the daily operations of the athletic department while assisting with administrative oversight, event management, and strategic initiatives that support Peru State's student-athletes and coaches.

"Gwyn has accomplished a great deal and has only just begun a long career in Athletics.  Gwyn brings creativity and professionalism to this role which is timely with the significant demands on every athletic department, and most of all here at Peru State.  I am very much looking forward to supporting Gwyn thrive in this new role."


Williams manages the Peru State Athletics website and digital platforms, serves as the primary media contact for Bobcat athletics, and coordinates interviews, statistics, and promotional content. She also oversees budgets and purchasing related to game-day operations and supervises student workers in event management, statistics, and media production.
 
Prior to her current role, Williams served as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant at Peru State, as well as a Game Day Operations Graduate Assistant and Athletic Activities Intern at Iowa Wesleyan University. She also gained experience as an intern with the Iowa City West Athletic Department.
 
A former collegiate student-athlete, Williams was a member of the Iowa Wesleyan University volleyball program, where she served as a team captain and student assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management from Iowa Wesleyan University and is currently finishing a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership in Sport and Recreational Management from Wayne State College.
