(Peru, Neb.) – The Peru State volleyball team fell to the Culver-Stockton Wildcats in Canton, MO in a 3-set match on Tuesday evening. The Bobcats are now 3-12 in the Heart of America conference and 8-20 overall.
In the first set of the match, the Bobcats started off with a couple of big kills by
Erison Vonderschmidt (FR., Falls City, NE) and
Keiley Hein (SR., Omaha, NE), however, they couldn't keep up as the wildcats bounced by and were able to hold their lead to end the first set 11-25.
The Bobcats came out in the second set swinging away. The Bobcats started off strong with kills by
Kalyssa Fox (JR., Casa Grande, AZ) and
Erison Vonderschmidt (FR., Falls City, NE). The Bobcats went point for point with the Wildcats throughout the entire set with
Keiley Hein having six kills throughout the set, but the Wildcats managed to take the second set for a final score of 22-25.
In the third set,
Keiley Hein started out the set with a kill from
Allie Schneider (SR., Humphrey, NE). The Bobcats kept the set close with multiple kills in a row from
Shealie Wiebers (FR., Papillion, NE). The Bobcats went point for point with the Wildcats until the Wildcats were able to take the lead to 21-14. A series of kills by
Keiley Hein kept the Bobcats fighting but the Wildcats won the set 20-25.
Keiley Hein (SR., Omaha, NE) led the Bobcats with twelve kills and eleven digs on the night.
Kalyssa Fox (JR., Casa Grande, AZ) also tallied seven kills and two blocks for the Bobcats.
Shealie Wiebers also had five kills during the match.
Alyssa Bock (SR., Plattsmouth, NE) had eleven digs for the Bobcats with
Erison Vonderschmidt adding ten during the match.
Allie Schneider (SR., Humphrey, NE) also had 28 assists for the Bobcats.
