(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Volleyball team had two conference home matches this weekend. The Bobcats fell to the Mount Mercy Mustangs on Friday, October 20 in a 4-set match. The next day, the Bobcats beat the Clarke Pride in a 4-set match. The Bobcats are now 8-19 overall and 3-11 in the Heart of America Conference.
Peru State vs Mount Mercy
In the first set against the mustangs, the Bobcats started off with a kill By
Kalyssa Fox (JR., Casa Grande, AZ). Though the mustangs went to a 12-4 lead, the Bobcats kept fighting and with big kills from
Addison Schneider (SO., Humphrey, NE),
Keiley Hein (SR., Omaha, NE) and
Elli Williams (JR., Olathe, KS) the bobcats were able to close their lead to 17-14. Despite their efforts, the Mustangs won the set 25-18.
The Bobcats came out in the second set starting off with a kill By
Elli Williams from
Allie Schneider (SR., Humphrey, NE) in the first play of the game. The Bobcats went point for point with the Mustangs.

Erison Vonderschmidt (FR., Falls City, NE) and
Elli Williams had a few big plays throughout the set, but the Mustangs managed to take the lead. The Mustangs took the second set with a score of 25-16
In the third set, the bobcats came out fighting taking a 5-2 lead. Kills by
Addison Schneider,
Reagan Osterhaus (JR., Wetmore, KS) and
Erison Vonderschmidt, helped the Bobcats fight point for point with the Mustangs. A kill by
Keiley Hein sealed the deal for the bobcats in the third set, winning the set 27-25.Â
The Bobcats started the fourth set strong with a kill by
Keiley Hein. The Bobcats and the Mustangs went point for point with kills by
Addison Schneider and
Keiley Hein, not letting the Mustangs run away with a lead. Big kills from
Erison Vonderschmidt blocks by
Addison Schneider and
Allie Schneider, kept the bobcats fighting but the Mustangs pulled away with a win in the set of 25-20.

Keiley Hein (SR., Omaha, NE)also tallied nine kills each for the match.
Chantal Paniagua (SR., Santo Domingo, D.R.) had seventeen digs for the Bobcats.
Alyssa Bock (SR., Plattsmouth, NE) also tallied seventeen digs on the night.
Allie Schneider (SR., Humphrey, NE) added thirteen digs with thirty-six assists.

The bobcats started the first set going point for point with the pride.
Addison Schneider had multiple kills and several blocks assisted by
Erison Vonderschmidt and
Allie Schneider to get the Bobcats a 7-3 lead over the Pride. Back-to-back kills by
Keiley Hein and several kills by
Erison Vonderschmidt and
Addison Schneider helped the Bobcat keep their lead all the way to a kill by
Reagan Osterhaus sealing the deal of the first set. The Bobcats won the set with a score of 25-22.
In the second set, the Bobcats had a slow start letting the pride get an 8-2 lead. Even with strong serves from Kately Shaw, kills by
Erison Vonderschmidt and big blocks by
Addison Schneider,
Allie Schneider and
Elli Williams, the Pride won the set 25-18.
The Bobcats came out swinging in the third set along with building a wall of blocks against the pride.
Allie Schneider had strong serves taking the Bobcats all the way to a 14-8 lead. Kills from
Kennedy Miller (JR., Plattsmouth, NE) were the Bobcats next three points. Back to back kills from
Allie Schneider, a big block from
Kalyssa Fox and
Kennedy Miller and a final kill by
Kalyssa Fox won the set for the Bobcats with a score of 25-20.
In the fourth set,
Kennedy Miller and
Keiley Hein came out with a big block to start the set. Strong serves from
Keiley Hein and kills by
Kalyssa Fox and
Kennedy Miller gave the Bobcats a 16-11 lead over the pride. Pride couldn't seem to figure out how to stop the strong swings from
Addison Schneider and
Allie Schneider. A last kill from
Erison Vonderschmidt finished the game winning the set 25-18.
