(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State volleyball coach
Laurie Felderman and staff recently announced that Katie Mendick
(Bellevue) signed her national letter of intent to join the Bobcat volleyball program this fall.
Mendick, a 5-10 outside hitter, is the daughter of Greg and Gina Mendick. She recently graduated from Bellevue East.

Mendick was a four-year varsity player for the Chieftains. In 2020, Mendick was awarded MaxPreps Bellevue East Player of the Year, Omaha World Herald All State Honorable Mention, and Lincoln Journal Star All State Honorable Mention. The two-year captain for the Chieftains finished her career with 974 kills (.222), 78 blocks, 468 digs and 77 aces with 285 of those kills (.249), 184 of those digs, and 24 of those aces coming from her senior year.
She plans on majoring in psychology at Peru State. In addition to athletic scholarship, Mendick will be receiving the Cooperating Schools Scholarship.
