(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State women's basketball head coach
Joan Albury recently announced the signing of Mariah Jo Markus, a 6'0 post player from Loup City, Nebraska.
Markus, who plays for a cooperative team Arcadia/Loup City High School, is the daughter of Cory and Roxi Markus.
Mariah Markus signed her letter of intent
to play Bobcat basketball. With Markus in
front is Peru State head coach Joan Albury.
In the back is assistant coach Ian Holleran.
Coach Albury stated on Markus that, "Mariah is a strong post that will add depth to our inside game. We are excited to see how much she develops as she puts in time in the weight room and trains with our other six foot posts."
Her past honors and awards include being named all-conference, all-state honorable mention, and most improved player. Markus is also is a member of the National Honor Society.
During her senior season, Markus averaged 10.6 points per game and grabbed 5.1 rebounds per contest.
The future Bobcat plans to major in Pre-Medicine/Biology while at Peru State.
