(Peru, Neb.) – The Bobcat volleyball team swept a pair of matches on Saturday with wins over Presentation (S.D.) and Grace. With the two wins, the 'Cats improved to 18-3 on the season.
 
No play-by-play was kept by Grace so only box scores are available.

 
Presentation Stats
 
Peru State swept the Saints for the third time this season. This time the Bobcats won 25-9, 25-14, 25-22.
 
No Bobcat was in double figures in kills. Rian Kirby (Gretna) and Kira Shapiro (Omaha) led the 'Cats with eight kills each. Jennifer Ostrowski (Kankakee, Ill.) and Hannah Sexton (Beatrice) each added six kills.
 
Brooke Rudebusch (Moorpark, Calif.) and Meg Grose (Peoria, Ariz.) led the team with 16 and 14 assists respectively.
 
Rudebusch and Cristina Viera (Montevideo, Uruguay) each had two service aces while Savannah Moore (Idaho Falls, Idaho) added one.
 
Viera led the team with 11 digs while Moore contributed seven. Grose added six while Sexton finished with five.
 

The team did not have any solo blocks, but finished with 12 block assists. Nadja Janjevic (Podgorica, Montenegro) led the effort with five block assists. Shapiro and Alex Bowman (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) each added two block assists.

Grace Stats
 
The bench was cleared in the sweep over Grace. Peru State won 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 over the Royals.
 
Janjevic was unstoppable as she had 14 kills on 14 attempts to hit a perfect 1.000%. Shapiro finished with ten kills while hitting .409. Yorgelys Jaspe (San Carlos, Venezuela) finished with six kills.
 
Grose led the team with 21 assists while Rudebusch added 18.
 
Viera had two service aces while Rudebusch, Alaya Roberts (Cibolo, Texas), and Helena Figueiredo (Minas Gerais, Brazil) each added one.
 
Viera finished with 22 digs with Rudebusch contributing six.

 
Again, the team did not have any solo blocks, but finished with 16 block assists. Janjevic led the team with five with Ostrowski adding three. Kirby, Shapiro, and Sexton each had two block assists.

Upcoming Matches
 
The next eight matches for Peru State will all be Heart of America Athletic Conference action. Tuesday night, the Bobcats host the ninth-ranked Grand View Vikings at 7 p.m. in the Al Wheeler Activity Center. Grand View is presently 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the Heart.
 
On Friday, the 'Cats will be in Canton, Mo., to take on Culver-Stockton. The Wildcats are 3-10 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Game time Friday night is 7 p.m.
 
Then, on Saturday, Peru State will travel to Oskaloosa, Iowa, to face William Penn. The Statesmen are currently 3-12 on the year and 0-1 in the Heart.
