(Peru, Neb.) – When the Peru State volleyball lost to Haskell Indian Nations University in the last game of their second fall invite, the Bobcats were disappointed in themselves.
The 'Cats went to Lawrence, Kansas, on Friday night and ruined part of Haskell's Homecoming and Dig Pink/Alumni recognition as they swept the Indians 25-22, 25-18, 25-23.
With the win, Peru State improves to 17-11 overall while Haskell fell to 9-13.
Rian Kirby (10) and Jennifer Ostrowski (7) combine for a stuff block against Haskell. Game Statistics Rian Kirby (Gretna) led the Bobcats with 16 kills while hitting over .500 in the win.
Bre Brandt (Papillion) added nine kills.
Courtney Jurek (Bellevue) and
Meg Grose (Peoria, Ariz.) provided 19 and 12 assists respectively to lead Peru State in setting.

Mallory Hull (Morse Bluff) led the 'Cats with 15 digs while Grose added eight, Brandt six, and Hull five.
The block game was on for the Bobcats as
Nicole Soifua (West Point, Utah) had five solo blocks and one block assist with
Jennifer Ostrowski (Kankakee, Ill.) adding three solo blocks.
Lea Boras (Markarska, Croatia) added two solos while Brandt and Kirby each one solo block.
Rachael West (El Dorado, Kan.) had a block assist.
Upcoming GamesThe Bobcats are in action on Sunday, Oct. 12, in a rescheduled game with Central Methodist University at 2 p.m. The Heart of America Athletic Conference foe – the Eagles – is 8-14 and 1-4 in conference play. Peru State is also 1-4 in conference action so both teams will be looking to improve their standing in the Heart.
Next Saturday, Peru State will be playing in a tri-match in Wichita, Kan., at Friends University. The Bobcats will face Sterling College at 3 p.m. and then play Friends at 5 p.m. Sterling is presently 14-12 on the season while Friends is 17-10.
