(South Sioux City, Ne.)- The Peru State College women's cross-country team competed at the Briar Cliff Invite on Saturday morning which was hosted at the Freedom Park in South Sioux City, Nebraska. The Bobcats scored 215 to place ninth in a field of nine teams that included two NCAA Division I squads.

Mia Arroyo (Wadena, Minnesota. / Verndale High School) led the Peru State runners by crossing the plane of the 6k event in a time of 26:11.8 to place 43
rd out of 85 competitors while
Madison VanLaningham (Tecumseh, Nebraska. / Johnson County Central High School) crossed the finish line at 27:06.9 to place 54
th.
Ronja Boehme placed 71
st with a time of 29:52.6 and
Jasmyen Mani (Stockton, California. / Delta Charter High School) finished at a time of 29:59.8 to earn 73
rd,
Lauren Wingert (Panama, Iowa. / Harlan Community High School) rounded out the Bobcat runners at 30:12.4 to place 75
th.

NCAA Division I Creighton took home the team title with an overall score of 47 while Bellevue's Grace Steinmetz earned the individual, crossing the line at a time of 21:50.5.

Peru State will be back on the course October 16
th where the Bobcats will compete at the Platte River Rumble in Ashland, Nebraska.
