(Fayette, Mo.)- The Peru State football team kept its win streak alive with a 64-43 shootout victory over Central Methodist on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats improved to 3-1 on the season.

Following his record-breaking performance, sophomore quarterback
CJ Dixon was named the NAIA and Heart of America Offensive Player of the Week. Dixon threw for 536 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 101 rushing yards, setting three new single-game school records in the Bobcats' 64-43 win over Central Methodist.

Dixon shredded the Eagles' secondary, completing 30-of-54 passes for 536 yards and seven touchdowns, while also rushing 10 times for 101 yards. He spread the ball across the field to a deep receiving corps,
Bryant Thomas (6 catches, 146 yards, TD), Amahd Bacon (3 catches, 108 yards, TD),
Daylan Jones (3 catches, 93 yards, 2 TDs), and
Chaz Sturn (5 catches, 85 yards, 2 TDs) all posted big games.
Robert Armes chipped in two scores—one on the ground and another through the air.

The game was back-and-forth early, with Central Methodist taking a 29-28 lead into halftime. The Bobcats pulled away after the break, scoring 36 second-half points. Dixon's 42-yard strike to Thomas and an 18-yard scoring toss to Armes highlighted the surge. The defense also made its mark—Nathaniel Orteg returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, sealing momentum for Peru State.

Defensively, the Bobcats recorded three sacks and two interceptions. Orteg's pick-six was the play of the day, while
Gavin Dunkel blocked a kick and
Sayvon Lankford,
Stanley Whipple, and
Nicholas Syms all contributed in the pass rush.

Special teams added more fireworks: Stacian Livings returned a blocked PAT for two points, and kicker
Parker Cushing went 6-for-8 on extra points while also averaging 48.3 yards on punts.

By the numbers, Peru State racked up 655 yards of total offense—536 through the air and 119 on the ground. The Bobcats finished with 32 first downs and converted 7-of-12 on third down.

The win marked the third straight for Peru State, as they look to carry their offensive firepower into next week's matchup.
