The Peru State volleyball team battled through three competitive sets but ultimately fell 3-0 on the road against Saint Mary Wednesday morning. Set scores were 25-18, 25-23, and 25-20.
The Bobcats showed grit throughout the match, especially in the second frame where they pushed the Spires to the brink before dropping a tight 25-23 decision. Peru State's offense was led by Addison Schneider, who tallied 8 kills on an impressive .438 hitting percentage while adding 5 total blocks for 11 points. Alejandra Villareal chipped in 6 kills, 11 digs, and a service ace, while Brinley Falkinburg added 4 kills, 7 digs, and 2 block assists. Eden Moore finished with 5 kills and 3 blocks at the net.
Defensively, libero Braelyn Braithwaite anchored the back row with 15 digs and a service ace, while setter Samantha Chesley directed the attack with 13 assists and 7 digs. Alina Hoxha added 11 assists and 5 digs.
As a team, Peru State recorded 30 kills, 56 digs, 7 team blocks, and 3 aces. The Bobcats were plagued at times by errors, committing 13 attack errors and 8 service errors.
