(Olathe, Kan.)- The Peru State volleyball team came up short on the road Friday evening, falling in straight sets to MidAmerica Nazarene (13-25, 24-26, 15-25).
After a slow start in the opening frame, the Bobcats responded with grit in the second set. Peru State built an early 5-0 lead and pushed the Pioneers deep into extra points before narrowly dropping the set 24-26. The third proved difficult as MNU's offense surged to close out the match.
Eden Moore led the attack with seven kills on a .333 hitting percentage, while Kennedy Miller added four kills and a team-high five blocks. Addison Schneider and Shealie Wiebers chipped in five kills apiece, with Wiebers also contributing nine digs and two blocks. Setter Sami Chesley handed out 12 assists and picked up six digs, while Braelyn Braithwaite tallied three service aces and nine digs.
Defensively, Peru State collected 46 digs, led by Braithwaite and Wiebers, and registered 7.0 total blocks as a team.
