(Cedar Rapids, Iowa)- The Peru State Softball Team fell to the Mount Mercy Mustangs on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats are now 4-10 in the Heart of America Conference and 9-24 overall.

Game 1 (Peru State 3 – Mount Mercy 7)

The Bobcats jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, with Cass Sipek's clutch single to right field bringing in
Kloey Hamblen and
Ellie Ohlde. The offense struck again in the seventh inning as
Maci Green laced a double to left field, scoring
Kylee Dieckmann. The Bobcats finished the game with eight hits, led by
Kloey Hamblen's two-hit performance.

On the mound,
Emily Vannatta allowed just one run and striking out two batters. Sydney Chubbuck and
Emberlyn Medsker each contributed solid performances, surrendering only three runs apiece while recording one strikeout each.

The Mustangs jumped to an early lead, but the Bobcats fought back in the sixth inning.
Ellie Ohlde came through with a clutch single, driving in Maci Gren for the Bobcats' first run. The team totaled three hits in the game, with
Leann Hawkins,
Ellie Ohlde, and
Reagan Wiehe each contributing one.
