(Atchison, Kan.)- The Peru State Baseball team split their series with the Benedictine Ravens on April 12
th and 13
th. The Bobcats are now 11-13 in the Heart of America Conference and 17-23 overall.

Game 1- (Peru State 4 – Benedictine 1)

The Bobcats jumped out to an early lead in the second inning, capitalizing on a pair of defensive miscues.
Tyson Fancher crossed the plate on an error by the first baseman, followed by
Kutty George scoring on a misplay in left field to make it 2-0.

In the fifth, the offense came alive again.
Gustavo Rivera delivered a clutch single, driving in
Antonio Benitez and Airam Bentancourt to extend the lead. The Bobcats tallied eight hits on the day, with
Antonio Benitez and
Tyson Fancher leading the charge with three hits apiece. Rivera and
Josh Schaller each chipped in with a hit of their own.

On the mound,
Kevin Diaz was dominant. He went the distance, pitching all seven innings while giving up just five hits and racking up seven strikeouts in a stellar performance.

Game 2- (Peru State 3 – Benedictine 6)

Tyson Fancher got the Bobcats on the board with a solo home run in the second inning, launching the team's first score of the game. The momentum carried into the third, as
Xavier Solla crushed another homer, this time a two-run shot that brought
Antonio Benitez across the plate.
On the mound,
Garrett Pavletich delivered a strong start for the Bobcats, giving up just two hits and recording three strikeouts in a solid outing.
Game 3- (Peru State 3 – Benedictine 0)

The offense got rolling early in the first inning when
Josh Schaller ripped a single to center, bringing home
Xavier Solla to put the Bobcats on the board.

In the second,
Jackson Lynch added to the momentum with a sacrifice fly that plated
Garrett Pavletich. The Bobcats struck again in the fourth as
Antonio Benitez delivered a clutch RBI single, scoring Lynch and stretching the lead to 3-0.

On the mound,
Blake Denson went the distance, tossing all seven innings while giving up just two hits and striking out two, sealing the shutout win for the Bobcats.

Game 4- (Peru State 2 – Benedictine 4)

 The Bobcats got off to a quick start with
Antonio Benitez crossing the plate on a defensive miscue, followed by
Xavier Solla scoring on a well-placed sacrifice groundout from
Josh Schaller. Offensively, the team tallied three hits, one apiece from Benitez, Solla, and
Tyson Fancher.

Garrett Pavletich turned in a solid four-inning performance, allowing just four runs while recording three strikeouts to keep the Bobcats in the game.
