(Olathe, Kan.)- The Peru State Softball team fell in two close games at MidAmerica Nazarene on Saturday, March 29
th. The Bobcats are now 2-4 in the Heart of America and 5-18 overall.

Game 1 (Peru State 1 – MidAmerica Nazarene 2)

The game went into two extra innings, adding to the intensity and drama of the contest. The Bobcats recorded five hits on the day, with
Jami Mans,
Kaelyn Hamblen,
Maci Green,
Autumn Dixon, and
Eva Schultz each contributing one. Schultz's pivotal double in the game brought in
Kaylee Harsh, giving Peru State a much-needed run to stay competitive.

Despite the valiant efforts from the offense, including Schultz's clutch hit, it was the Bobcats' pitching that kept them in the game. Sage Isaacs had a strong showing on the mound, striking out five batters and allowing only eight hits throughout the game. However, in the end, the Bobcats were unable to overcome the Pioneers' offense, and the game ended in a tough loss after the extra innings.

Game 2 (Peru State 1 – MidAmerica Nazarene 2)

The Bobcats took an early lead in the game, with
Jami Mans driving in the first run with a single to center field, which allowed
Kloey Hamblen to cross the plate.
Ellie Ohlde added another run for the Bobcats, hitting a single that brought
Leann Hawkins home. With the early momentum, Peru State looked to hold onto the lead and extend their advantage.

On the mound, Sydney Chubbuck started strong for Peru State, recording three strikeouts to keep the Pioneers at bay.
Emberlyn Medsker came in as relief, striking out two batters, but their efforts weren't enough to secure the win.
