(Lamoni, Iowa)- The Peru State College Men's Basketball team were edged out by the Graceland Yellowjackets with a final score of 61-68 on Saturday, March 1st, in the Heart Conference Tournament Semifinals.
The game commenced with high energy as
Carlos Hines of Peru State made an early statement with a powerful dunk, kicking off the scoring for the Bobcats.
Ty Griggs contributed significantly from the 3 point line, though Graceland quickly responded, gaining a notable lead of seven points during the first period. Despite a strong start, the Bobcats trailed 34-31 at halftime.
Into the second starting the second half, in an attempt to narrow the gap, Hines was aggressive driving to the hoop. however, the Bobcats weren't able to stop the Yellowjackets and Graceland secured the 68-61 victory.
Carlos Hines stood out with a game-high 24 points and 6 assists for
Peru State, while
Aaron Miller supported with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Notably,
Christian Tidiane also made a significant impact on defense with 6 blocks.

The Bobcats will now await the NAIA Selection Show to find out if they will receive an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
