(Mishawaka, Ind.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball team played Bethel (Ind.) in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament on Friday, March 14
th. The Bobcats fell to the Pilots 69-83 in the matchup. The Bobcats finish the season 22-9 overall and 17-7 in the Heart of America Conference.
The team managed some key plays, including consecutive baskets from Peoples and an early three-pointer by
Devin Tomlinson. The Bobcats took an early lead, but the Pilots managed to close the gap in the first half.
Carlos Hines led the Bobcats in scoring with a compelling 22-point performance, also contributing 3 assists.
Chris Peoples delivered a solid night with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Stephen Coleman also added 12 points to Peru State College's total, but it wasn't quite enough to secure victory. Additional contributions came from
Aaron Miller and
Devin Tomlinson, who each put up 7 points, with Miller notching 2 steals.
