(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Softball Team swept the Culver-Stockton Wildcats in their two-game series on Sunday, March 23rd. The Bobcats are now 2-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and 5-15 overall.

Game 1(Peru State 4 – Culver-Stockton 3)

Peru State's lineup delivered when needed, with players like
Ellie Ohlde scoring two runs and crucial RBIs from
Kylee Weis,
Maci Green, and
Jami Mans, each contributing to the tally.
Maci Green's standout moment came in the 6th inning with a 2 RBI single that was vital in keeping the Bobcats competitive. The starting pitcher,
Emily Vannatta, held strong against the Wildcats' offense, having three strikeouts.

Jami Mans stepped up to bat, delivering a decisive hit that brought in
Kloey Hamblen to score the winning run, clinching the win for the Bobcats.

The game witnessed significant contributions from key players like

Maci Green, who scored the crucial runs for the Bobcats. Particularly standout was
Kloey Hamblen. Her momentous double in the second inning drove in two runs for the Bobcats, pushing them ahead after Culver-Stockton briefly held the lead. Hamblen's exceptional performance extended beyond batting as she successfully stole two bases in the game.

Despite a strong start by the Wildcats, Peru State's pitcher, Sidney Chubbuck, held back the Wildcats to only five hits and one run. Chubbuck also had one strikeout.
