(Peru, Neb)- The Peru State Women's Basketball team clinched a solid win against the Graceland Yellowjackets on Wednesday night, concluding with a score of 64-56. The Bobcats are now 6-17 in the Heart of America Conference and 8-19 overall.
From the starting whistle, Peru State took the initiative, quickly gaining a lead thanks to a swift layup by Erison Vonderschmidt. Led by Vonderschmidt, Kylie Diaz, and Hailey Ingram, the team showcased an impeccable synergy. Vonderschmidt, contributing a significant 17 points overall, set a vigorous pace for the game. Diaz not only added 16 points but also led with 7 assists and secured 15 rebounds. Ingram wasn't far behind, chipping in 11 points coupled with substantial defense, including 4 assists. The team's defensive efforts were equally noteworthy. Natasha Deal, notably contributing 8 points, grabbed some crucial steals, disrupting the Yellowjackets momentum.
