Men's Basketball Defeats Central Methodist

(Peru, Neb.)- On February 8, 2025, Peru State College's basketball team, the Bobcats, claimed a significant 84-72 win over the Central Methodist Eagles in a dynamic conference game held in Peru, Neb. The victory elevates the Bobcats' season record to an impressive 19-6 overall record and 15-6 Heart of America Conference record.  

The Bobcats displayed formidable teamwork and strategic execution throughout the game. Leading the charge was Carlos Hines, who scored a game-high 28 points, coupled with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Aaron Miller also played a crucial role, contributing 14 points and securing 12 rebounds, while Chris Peoples matched Miller's scoring with another 14 points and added 3 rebounds and 2 steals to his tally. Peru State established a commanding presence right from the first half, leading the Eagles 38-29 at halftime. 

Highlighting the game's critical moments, Peru State had surged ahead by 15 points during the second period, a lead prominently influenced by Hines' performance in the first half and solid rebounding from Miller and Christian Tidiane. Meanwhile, Central Methodist saw commendable efforts from Destin Jenkins, scoring 24 points, and Marcus Anthony, adding 11 points. 

Next: The Bobcats will be in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at Mount Mercy on Saturday, February 15th. Tipoff is set for 2:00pm.
