(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Bobcats earned a strong 79–66 victory over Park on Tuesday night, using a dominant performance and a career night from Kylie Diaz to stay unbeaten in conference play.
Peru State found its rhythm after the opening quarter, putting together a 23-point second frame to take control heading into halftime. Once the Bobcats grabbed the lead, they never let up—shooting efficiently around the rim and overpowering Park on the glass. By the end of the night, Peru State owned a 44–24 rebounding advantage and shot over 52 percent from the field.
Diaz was the difference-maker from start to finish, delivering a standout 34-point, 20-rebound double-double while adding five blocks and four assists. Her presence in the paint set the tone on both ends of the floor. Erison Vonderschmidt provided another strong spark with 15 points and five assists, while Savannah Bingham and MaKinley Tobey each added nine points to support the offensive effort.
Peru State's defense stepped up late, holding Park to 14 or fewer points in three of the four quarters and finishing with 10 total blocks. A 22-point fourth quarter sealed the win as the Bobcats pushed the lead to double digits and maintained control the rest of the way.
