(Omaha, Neb.)- The Peru State women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Thursday evening, defeating the College of Saint Mary 84–64 on the road. With the victory, the Bobcats improve to 2–2 on the season.
Peru State came out strong offensively, shooting 52.5 percent from the field and an impressive 47.1 percent from beyond the arc. The Bobcats built a 48–28 halftime lead and never looked back, extending their advantage to as much as 29 points in the third quarter.
Kylie Diaz led all scorers with a stellar 29-point performance, going 10-for-15 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free-throw line. She also added seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Erison Vonderschmidt followed with 22 points and four rebounds, while MaKinley Tobey contributed 15 points, four boards, and three assists. Savannah Bingham rounded out the double-figure scorers with 12 points and seven rebounds.
As a team, the Bobcats assisted on 19 of their 31 made field goals and forced 19 turnovers, converting them into 23 points. Peru State also dominated the paint with 40 points inside and held a 32–28 edge on the glass.
