(Atchison, Kan.)- The Peru State volleyball team came up just short in a hard-fought Heart matchup on Tuesday evening, falling in five sets to Benedictine (25-20, 16-25, 16-25, 25-17, 15-13) inside Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
The Bobcats (8-11, 1-5 Heart) showed resilience after dropping the opening frame, surging back to win the next two behind a balanced attack and strong net play. Kalolaine Pasikala chipped in 13 kills, while Brinley Falkinburg hit an efficient .269 with nine kills. Setter Samantha Chesley directed the offense with 21 assists, and libero Braelyn Braithwaite led the back row with a team-high 19 digs.
As a team, Peru State finished with 56 kills, 79 digs, and 11 team blocks, while serving up five aces.
