Men's Basketball Wins Historic Game over #6 Baker

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball team defeated the nationally ranked #6 Baker Wildcats in a historic game on Wednesday night, 73-63. The game was the Men's Basketball program's highest ranked win in history and handing Baker their first conference loss of the season.

After a slow start that saw Baker jump to a quick nine-point lead, the Bobcats quickly bounced back, taking the lead by the 10-minute mark and holding it for the rest of the game.

By halftime, the Bobcats led 35-23, thanks to a strong first half from Carlos Hines, who scored 12 points, and Donzell Johnson, who added 11. The Wildcats tried to rally in the second half, cutting the lead to just two points, but the Bobcats stayed focused and regained their 12-point advantage to seal the win.

Hines finished with 28 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while Johnson contributed 20 points and seven rebounds. Stephen Coleman Jr. added 13 points, four rebounds, and two steals, and Chris Peoples contributed nine rebounds, five points, three assists, and three steals.
