The Peru State Bobcats women's basketball team was defeated by the Mount Mercy Mustangs, 70-84, on Thursday night. The game was tightly contested in the first half, with the Bobcats holding a small 33-38 deficit at halftime. However, Mount Mercy extended their lead in the second half to win the contest. The Bobcats are now 3-6 in the Heart of America Conference and 5-8 overall.
Natasha Deal led the Bobcats with 21 points and six rebounds, adding one assist and one steal.
Erison Vonderschmidt contributed 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals, while
Hailey Ingram chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and three assists. Despite strong individual efforts, the Bobcats couldn't contain Mount Mercy's offense in the second half.
The Bobcats will be on the road on Saturday, January 4th as they take on the Clarke Pride at 12:00pm.
