(Olathe, Kan.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball Team struggled early in their matchup with the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers. The Bobcats fell 57-86. The Bobcats are now 4-12 in the Heart of America Conference and 6-14 overall.
The Bobcats started slow in the first quarter, and the Pioneers quickly built an early lead. By halftime, the Bobcats were down 26-46. In the first half, Makinley Tobey led the team with seven points, while
Kylie Diaz and
Erison Vonderschmidt each contributed six points.
In the second half, the Bobcats came out determined to make a run.
Hailey Ingram found her rhythm, scoring eight points, while both
Erison Vonderschmidt and
Kylie Diaz added six points each.
Kylie Diaz had a standout performance, leading the Bobcats with 12 points, seven rebounds, nine steals, four assists, and two blocks.
Erison Vonderschmidt also contributed significantly, finishing with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Hailey Ingram added 11 points and two rebounds, while Makinley Tobey also recorded 11 points and three assists.
