Men's Basketball Falls in Overtime

(Olathe, Kan.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball Suffered an overtime loss on Wednesday night, 91-90, at MidAmerica Nazarene. The Bobcats are now 12-4 in the Heart of America Conference and 16-4 overall.

The Bobcats started strong, with Chris Peoples leading the charge, scoring nine points in the first half, and Amir Poat contributing eight. The teams played tightly throughout the first half, and Peru State held a slim 45-44 lead at halftime.
 
The game continued to be intense in the second half, with both teams exchanging scoring runs. Stephen Coleman Jr. and Devin Tomlinson stepped up for the Bobcats, adding eight points each in the second half, helping to tie the game at 80-80 and send it to overtime.
 
In the overtime period, the two teams continued to battle it out, with the score swinging back and forth. Chris Peoples was crucial, scoring six of the Bobcats' 10 overtime points. Despite his best efforts, the Pioneers secured the win, 91-90.
 
Chris Peoples finished the game with 19 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, leading the Bobcats in all areas. Tomlinson added 15 points and five rebounds, while Coleman contributed 15 points, two rebounds, and two assists. Poat also had a standout performance, recording 11 points, three rebounds, five blocks, and two steals. Aaron Miller posted a double-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds, and one steal.
 
Next: The Bobcats will be in Parkville, Missouri on Saturday, January 25. Tipoff is set for 4:00pm.
