(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State men's basketball team came from behind to defeat the William Penn Statesmen 77-75 on Saturday. Despite a slow start, the Bobcats dug deep in the second half to secure a hard-fought win.
The game began with the Bobcats facing an early deficit. Despite solid individual performances from
Carlos Hines and
Devin Tomlinson, Peru State found themselves trailing 47-39 at halftime. Hines, who was a standout throughout the game, scored 18 points in the first half, while Tomlinson contributed four rebounds.
The second half proved to be a different story. After the break, the Bobcats came out with renewed energy and managed to tie the game at 50-50, showcasing their resilience. Hines continued his impressive play, adding 9 points, while Tomlinson was a key contributor, scoring 10 points and pulling down three rebounds.
As the game intensified, Hines took control, delivering a stellar performance to finish with 27 points and four assists. Tomlinson also played a crucial role, recording 14 points and seven rebounds.
Aaron Miller also provided valuable support, contributing 10 points and five rebounds.
