(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Bobcats defeated the Culver-Stockton Wildcats after a slow start on Saturday afternoon, 71-50. The Bobcats are now 9-3 in the Heart of America Conference and 13-3 overall.
Devin Tomlinson led the charge in the first half, scoring 11 points, while
Amir Poat and
Christian Tidiane provided solid rebounding efforts, each pulling down five boards. Despite the slow start, the Bobcats built a comfortable 28-20 lead by halftime.
In the second half, Peru State came out strong, extending their lead behind an impressive performance from
Carlos Hines, who netted 13 points and helped keep the Wildcats at bay. Tidiane continued to contribute, adding five more rebounds in the second half, while the Bobcats' defense stifled Culver-Stockton's attempts to close the gap.
The final buzzer saw Peru State with a commanding 71-50 victory, led by Tomlinson's 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Hines finished with 13 points and three rebounds, while
Aaron Miller chipped in with 11 points and four rebounds. Tidiane's all-around effort, which included five points, two steals, and 10 rebounds, proved crucial in the win.
