Baseball Sweeps Missouri Valley on Senior Weekend

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Baseball swept the Missouri Valley Vikings on Saturday April 20th and Sunday April 21st. The Bobcats also recognized their seven baseball seniors on Sunday as well.
 
Game 1- Peru State 4 – Missouri Valley 3
 
Angel Andrades singled to center field in the first inning to score Antonio Benitez. In the fourth inning, Randy Jimenez and Efrin Torres scored on Viking errors. Antonio Benitez scored the final run-in game 1 for the Bobcats after a single to left field by Garrett Pavletich.
 
Dylan Pavletich pitched six innings allowing only six hits and four runs with six strikeouts. Garrett Pavletich pitched one inning allowing only one hit.
 
Game 2- Peru State 9 – Missouri Valley 4
 
The Bobcats scored their first run of game two after a fielder's choice. IN the third inning, Garrett Pavletich singled to the short stop to score Gustavo Rivera followed by Efrain Torres having an RBI to score Garrett Pavletich. Randy Jimenez singled to right center to score Wesley Bradford in the third inning. In the fifth inning, Wesley Bradford singled to score Antonio Benitez followed by Garrett Pavletich scoring on a wild pitch. In the sixth inning, Xavier Solla scored on an error by the Vikings. Antonio Benitez hit a sacrifice fly to score Will Reynolds. Wesley Bradford singled to right field to score Gustavo Rivera.
 
Kevin Diaz pitched all 7 innings, only allowing four hits and four runs while having six strikeouts.
 
Game 3- Peru State 5 – Missouri Valley 3
 
Angel Andrades scored the first run for the Bobcats after a sacrifice fly by Xavier Solla. In the fifth inning, Gustavo Rivera hit a home run that also scored Jackson Lynch and Will Reynolds. Rivera then hit a single to left field to score Xavier Solla.
 
Casey Ogden pitched six innings, only allowing five hits and three runs but also had three Viking strikeouts. Garrett Pavletich pitched one inning, only allowing one hit.
 
Game 4- Peru State 7 – Missouri Valley 2
 
Antonio Benitez scored the first run for the Bobcats after a Viking error. Gustavo singled to right center in the third inning to score Will Reynolds. Doel Pina scored on an error followed by Garrett Pavletich single to center to score Antonio Benitez. In the fifth inning, Angel Andrades hit a sacrifice fly that scored Antonio Benitez. A single by Gustavo Rivera that scored Xavier Solla followed by a single by Antonio Benitez that scored Jackson Lynch.
 
Diego Oquendo pitched six innings allowing only five hits and two runs with five strikeouts. Blake Denson pitched one inning, having one strikeout.

Next: The Bobcats will travel to Parkville, Mo. to take on the Park University Pirates on Thursday, April 25 and Saturday, April 27th. The games are scheduled for 1 and 3 pm.
