(Lamoni, Iowa)- The Peru State Baseball team took on the Graceland Yellowjackets on Friday March 29^th and Saturday March 30^th. The Bobcats went 1-3 during the matchup.
 
Game 1- Peru State 3 – Graceland 7
 
Graceland took a quick lead in game 1, scoring two in the first inning. The Bobcats scored their first run in the fourth inning after a single by Angel Andrades and a Yellowjacket error helped Gustavo Rivera to score. Wesley Bradford then singled to send Jackson Lynch to score the Bobcats second run. In the final inning, a sacrifice fly by Antonio Benitez sent Wesley Bradford to score.
 
Dylan Pavletich pitched four innings for the Bobcats, getting charged with six hits and five runs but having three Yellowjacket strikeouts. Tobin Wingender pitched one inning allowing two hits and two runs with Blake Denson also pitching one inning and getting charged with one hit.
 
Game 2- Peru State 5 – Graceland 6
 
The Bobcats scored early in the first inning after a wild pitch scored Antonio Benitez. The Bobcats scored three runs in the third inning starting with Xavier Solla after a single by Will Reynolds. Gustavo then hit a home run to score along with Will Reynolds. Will Reynolds singled in the fifth inning scoring Antonio Benitez.
 
Kevin Diaz pitched four innings, having three strikeouts. Diaz was charged with seven hits and six runs in game two. Garrett Pavletich pitched one inning, only allowing one hit and having one strikeout.
 
Game 3- Peru State 1 – Graceland 3
 
The Bobcats held the Yellowjackets to a scoreless first three innings. Efrin Torres singled to center to score Randy Jimenez for the Bobcats one run in game three. The Bobcats had six hits with Efrin Torres having two. Antonio Benitez, Gustavo Rivera, Randy Jimenez and Xavier Solla each tallied one run.
 
Casey Ogden pitched five innings for the Bobcats. Ogden was charged with seven hits and three runs but had five strikeouts. Tobin Wingender pitched one inning, having one strikeout.
 
Game 4- Peru State 6 – Graceland 1
 
The Bobcats scored two runs early after a Yellowjacket error scored Antonio Benitez and Gustavo Rivera. In the fourth inning, Doel Pina singled to score Garrett Pavletich. Gustavo Rivera then had a sacrifice fly tat scored Diego Rivera. The Bobcats scored their final two runs in the sixth inning. A Yellowjacket error allowed Doel Pina and Billy Starr to each score.
 
Diego Oquendo pitched six innings, only allowing six hits and one run while having three strikeouts. Blake Denson pitched one inning, getting charged with one hit and having one strikeout.
 
Next- The Bobcats will travel to Bellevue University on Friday, April 5^th. The Bobcats will then return home to take on the Bruins on Saturday, April 6^th.
