Men's Basketball Gets Big Road Wins in Bellevue

(Bellevue, Neb.)- The Peru State Men's basketball team defeated the Dickinson State Blue Hawks, 68-61 on Friday afternoon. They then went on to defeat the Bellevue Bruins on Saturday night, 65-51. The Bobcats advanced to 3-0.

The Bobcats started slow in the first half against the Blue Hawks finding themselves in a small deficit. With the help of six points and five rebounds from Devin Tomlinson along with five points from Stephen Colemen Jr., the Bobcats closed the gap and had a small 27-24 lead at halftime.
 
The Bobcats didn't let up in the second half as they never lost their lead. Devin Tomlinson had 15 points for the Bobcats with three rebounds and Stephen Coleman Jr. added 11 points and three rebounds as the Bobcats fought to extend their lead. The Blue Hawks tried to close the gap, but they couldn't find a way through the Bobcat defense as the Bobcats took the win 68-61.
 
Devin Tomlinson led the Bobcats with 21 points, nine rebounds and one block and one steal. Stephen Coleman Jr. added 16 points and six points for the Bobcats. Ty Griggs had nine points with Carlos Hines adding eight points, two rebounds and two steals against Dickinson State. Chris Peoples had six rebounds with Christian Tidiane and Aaron Miller adding five.  
 
Peru State 65 – Bellevue 51
 
The Bobcats took an early lead against the Bruins, creating an early gap. Devin Tomlinson had eight points, six rebounds and two steals with Ty Griggs having six points in the first half helping the Bobcats take an eight point lead over the Bruins. The Bobcats led 31-23 at halftime.
 
In the second half, the Bobcats didn't let the Bruins take the lead as they tried to extend it. Devin Tomlinson had 12 points and five rebounds in the half with Carlos Hines adding 10 points as the Bobcats extended their lead. Tomlinson had the final shot for the Bobcats making a three pointer to extend their lead to 14 points and a 65-51 victory to finish the weekend.
 
Devin Tomlinson had 20 points, 11 rebounds and three steals for the Bobcats. Carlos Hines had 14 points, three rebounds and two assists, with Ty Griggs adding 10 points and two assists. Aaron Miller had eight points and four rebounds with Christian Tidiane having five points and six rebounds.
 
Next: The Bobcats will return home on Saturday, November 9th as they will play Doane at 6:00pm.
