(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Football Team took a commanding win over the Culver-Stockton Wildcats 52-21 on Saturday afternoon scoring the most points in a game since 2017. The Bobcats advanced to 4-1 in conference play and 6-2 overall.

The Bobcats had 263 rushing yards and 133 passing yards against the Wildcats. The team only let the Wildcats have 268 total offensive yards in the game

In a dominant performance, Peru State rolled to a convincing victory over Culver-Stockton, with a final score marked by consistent offensive execution throughout the game. The first quarter saw Peru State jump out to an early lead with
Chandler Cotton's 8-yard touchdown run. The Wildcats responded with a touchdown run to tie the game. However, Peru State quickly regained the advantage when
Grant Gutschow added a 6-yard touchdown run, putting them ahead 14-7 by the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter saw the offense continue to click, as
Colin Shields connected with
Lander Imbimbo for a 3-yard touchdown pass.
Gus Bashore extended the lead with a 40-yard field goal, making it 24-7 at the half. Coming out of the locker room, Peru State's offense remained explosive, with Shields finding
Daylan Jones for a 43-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 31-14.

In the fourth quarter, the Peru State ground game took over. Gutschow punched in his second touchdown of the game with a 3-yard run, followed by Jermaine House adding a 2-yard score.
MJ Nelson capped off the scoring barrage with a 3-yard touchdown run, making it 52-14. Culver-Stockton responded with a late 4-yard touchdown run, but it was too little, too late, as Peru State's defense held firm, and the offense ran away with the win, 52-21.

Colin Shields had 10 completions for 133 yards resulting in two touchdowns with the longest being 43 yards in the matchup.Â

Grant Gutschow had a total gain of 120 rushing yards with the longest being 17 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Jermaine House added 96 yards and one touchdown with the longest rush being 39 yards.

Kaleb Herbel added 39 total yards with
Lander Imbimbo adding 14 yards against the Wildcats.

Duke McClinton had seven total tackles with five solo and two assisted and a tackle for a one yard loss.
Ja-Quez Oliver had four total tackles with three solo tackles and 1 tackle for a seven yard loss.
Jakari Starling and
Ahdarrious Gee had four tackles with two solos adding a tackle for loss of two yards.
