(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Football Team held Nationally Ranked #2 Grand View to only 26 points in their loss on Saturday. The Bobcats fell 7-26. The Bobcats are now 3-2 in the Heart of America Conference 6-3 overall.

The game began on a strong note for the Bobcats, who struck first with an 18-yard touchdown pass from quarterback

Gio Contreras in the first quarter, giving Peru State an early 7-0 lead. However, the Vikings quickly responded, and the Bobcats struggled to contain Grand View's offense in the second quarter. The Vikings held a 16-7 lead into halftime. Despite a solid defensive effort, the Bobcats were unable to slow down Grand View's attack, particularly in the run game, which allowed the Vikings to establish a lead.

In the third quarter, the Bobcats received a spark when the Bobcats recovered a fumble, giving the team a chance to swing the momentum. However, the Bobcats struggled to capitalize, and the game continued to slip away. Grand View added another 10 points in the fourth quarter, securing a 26-7 win.

Colin Shields had 17 completions with 40 attempts with 196 yards scoring one touchdown. His longest pass was 32 yards.
Jordan Kempf had five receptions for 53 yards.
Brody McBee had a 32 yard reception with
Daylan Jones having 2 receptions for 28 yards.
Gio Contreras had two receptions for 26 yards and one touchdown.
Grant Gutschow had 21 rushing attempts with a gain of 51 yards.Â

Duke Mcclinton having eight total tackles with five being solo against the Vikings.Â
